10/31/2011 5:33:59 PM – The New Mexico Junior College men’s basketball team participated in the annual St. Helena Family Fair this past weekend in Hobbs. This is the second year in which the Thunderbirds have volunteered for the Family Fair at St. Helena’s Church. The Family Fair has become a local tradition for families in southeast New Mexico and western Texas, providing an environment for families to enjoy carnival style games, fresh food, athletic competitions and live entertainment.

7/7/2011 8:54:40 AM – Dequan Hicks, a 6’7’’ forward from Racine, WI, has been invited to participate in the prestigious ‘Mullen’s JC Top 100 Camp’ on July 9th and 10th. The junior college camp in comprised of the top 100 returning sophomore in the country and will take place on the campus of Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO. The camp provides an unparalleled opportunity to compete against the best players in the nation and gain maximum exposure for recruiting.

Seven of the nine returning sophomore will be participating in junior college showcases around the country. These showcases provide an opportunity to play against the best junior college players in the nation while gaining recruiting exposure.

7/7/2011 8:38:34 AM – Andrew Morris, a 6’3’’ sophomore guard from Melbourne, Australia, has been selected as an NJCAA Academic All-American. Morris spent the past two seasons at New Mexico Junior College, where he started 22 games and averaged 5.6 points per game.

7/7/2011 8:35:33 AM – Sophomore guard Andrew Morris has accepted a scholarship offer to continue his basketball career at Coker College in Hartsville, SC. Coker is an NCAA Division II institution and competes in the challenging Conference Carolinas.

6/2/2011 5:46:34 PM – Sophomore point guard Marc Little has signed a national letter-of-intent to continue his basketball career at Abilene Christian University. Little, an Honorable Mention All-Conference selection in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference this past season, signed with the Grizzlies on May 12th.
