10/27/2011 9:59:37 AM –                Texas Tech University hosted the fifth and last Fall 2011 rodeo at  the Texas Tech Equestrian Center, in Wolfforth, TX in which NMJC team ropers Jesse Northrop (Fr) header from Fields, OR and partner Hayes Smith, (Fr) heeler from White City, OR, won the Texas Tech team roping title. Kade Jacobs (Fr) steer wrestler from Central Valley, UT split 5/6 in the long go with the time of 4.8 sec, but missed his steer in the short go.

10/27/2011 9:55:28 AM –           Frank Phillips College hosted the fourth Fall 2011 rodeo in Perryton, TX, in which NMJC’s Logan D. Harkey (So) from Vernon, TX won the calf roping title and Brittany Herring (So) from Artesia, NM finished second in the average.  In team roping NMJC’s Quay Howard (So) header from Canyon, TX and Collin Johnson (Fr) heeler from Browning, MT finished fourth in the average. Quay also split 8th/9th/ and 10th in calf roping with the time of 11.4 sec, but had a no time in the short round.  Also in the team roping, Jessie Northrop (Fr) header from Fields, OR and partner Hayes Smith (Fr) heeler from White City, OR placed eight in the long go with the time of 7.2 sec. , but had a no time in short go. Landon Lockhart bull rider finished 10th in the long go with the score of 67 points, but was bucked off in the short go.

9/26/2011 10:39:30 AM –            Eastern New Mexico University hosted the first of ten, National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association Southwest Region Rodeos for the 2011-12 academic year. Members of the NMJC Men’s Team Tyler Southern (Fr) team roper (heeler) from Hobbs, NM won the team roping title, Quay Howard (So) calf roper from Canyon, TX finished second in the average, Collin Johnson (Fr) steer wrestler from Browning, MT finished 6th in the long go, and C. D. Wilcox (So) from Louisa, VA won the ENMU Men’s All Around.
