New Mexico Junior College barrel racer Ashlyn, Campbell (Fr) from Olds, Alberta Canada placed 8th in the long-go with a time of 16.55 sec. In the short-go her horse hit a barrel taking her out of the round and average.
Thunderbird bareback rider K.C. Peterson (So.) from Animas, NM scored 65 points in the long-go splitting 7/8th place. In the short-go he scored 76 points for a 5h place finish in both the short-go and average.
Sophomore bull rider William “Teddy“ Stovin from Drayton Valley, Alberta Canada rode his long-go bull for a score of 78 points, but was bucked off in the short- go. “Teddy” finished 6th in the average.
This finishes the NIRA/SWR Fall Rodeos. Spring 2010 NIRA/SWR Rodeos start again March 4-6, 2010 at Weatherford College, Weatherford, TX.
The next rodeo for the NMJC Rodeo Team is the New Mexico College/High School Challenge, Nov. 5-7, 2009 in Farmington, NM.
