2/21/2010 7:23:46 PM – In the last meet before the NJCAA Indoor Championships the NMJC Lady T-Birds added three new qualifying marks, improved on four qualifying marks, set one school record and had one individual champion. This final meet was a good tune up for the national championships. Currently the Lady T-Birds are setting well going into the championships with 14 athletes qualified in 31 events. The NJCAA Indoor Championships will be held at Eastern Illinois University on March 5th and 6th.

2/16/2010 12:55:12 PM – Competing at one of the toughest track meets in the nation the NMJC Lady T-Birds had a record setting day. Leading the way for the Lady T-Birds was Freshman Olivia Lewis. Lewis was a part of four school records, three individually (60 meters, 200 meters and 400 meters) and one as a member of the 4 x 400 Relay. Overall the Lady T-Birds set six school records, three new national qualifying marks and improved on nine previously qualified events. The next action for the Lady T-Birds will be February 20th at the University of Oklahoma Sooner Invitational.

2/8/2010 9:39:35 AM – Two of the NMJC Lady T-Birds showed how versatile of athletes they are. Freshman Christina Barrett and Aleese Pitman competed in the UNM Pentathlon meet on Friday, February 5th. The pentathlon is an event where each competitor competes in five different events being awarded points for their performance in these events. Both young ladies competed well against four year universities. There point totals currently put them in the top 10 in the NJCAA.

2/7/2010 5:07:04 PM – The NMJC Lady T-Birds continued their great indoor season competing at the Texas Tech Invitational. Competing against tough competition the Lady T-Birds winning one event, setting two school records, hitting six new national qualifying marks, and improving on one qualify mark. The next action for the Lady T-Birds will be February 12th and 13th at the Tyson Invitational hosted by the University of Arkansas.

2/1/2010 9:53:13 AM – The Lady T-Birds had a great day at the University of New Mexico Invitational in Albuquerque. Competing as the only junior college in the meet NMJC held their own winning one event, setting one school record, hitting five new national qualifying marks, and improving on three qualify marks. The next action for the Lady T-Birds will be February 6th when they travel back to Lubbock, TX to compete in the final of three indoor meets put on by Texas Tech University.

1/24/2010 2:03:53 PM – After an eye opening first meet the Lady T-Birds came back to Lubbock, TX to compete in the 2nd of three college invitational’s hosted by Texas Tech University. The Lady T-Birds had an outstanding two day meet as they had six new qualifying marks, two improved qualifying marks and three school records. The next action for the Lady T-Birds will be January 30th when they travel to the University of New Mexico Invitational.

1/17/2010 11:54:57 AM – In the first Indoor meet of the season the NMJC Lady T-Birds learned a lot about what it takes to compete at the college level. The Lady T-Birds competed a very young team as only 3 sophomores competed at the Texas Tech Invitational held in Lubbock, Texas. Despite the lack of experience the Lady T-Birds qualified four open events and one relay for the NJCAA Championships. The next action for the Lady T-Birds will be January 22nd and 23rd when they return to Texas Tech for the second meet of the season.
