Cody Legg photoCody Legg joined the NMJC Athletic Department in the fall of 2009 as the Athletic Trainer. Legg, a native of Oklahoma, grew up in Oklahoma City, attended college in both Weatherford and Durant, Oklahoma, and worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer in Durant. When asked what prompted him to pursue athletic training, Legg says it was the multiple sports injuries he suffered while in high school.

“Knowing the damage that was done to my body and what was necessary to rehabilitate it, I made the decision to become an athletic trainer myself.”

For this instruction, Legg attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training. Upon graduation Legg went to the opposite side of the state for graduate studies in Secondary Education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma. It was here that he worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer, helping the student athletes of the university for two years, while also providing services to the surrounding high schools. After completing his appointment at Southeastern Oklahoma State, Legg made the move to Hobbs.

“The move to New Mexico Junior College has been a good one. I enjoy our athletes, and our coaches are great to work with. I look forward to making a positive impact on all of our students and athletes.”
